At the heart of the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum is the Catalina PBY-5 flying boat, an important reminder of Lake Boga's remarkable role during the Second World War.

The Catalina and original underground communications bunker are heritage listed, recognizing their historical significance and connection to the No. 1 Flying Boat Repair Depot established at Lake Boga during the war.

Visitors can explore an extensive collection of aircraft components, wartime machinery and vehicles, engines, uniforms, photographs, documents, weapons and other artefacts associated with the base and the men and women who served there.

Interactive displays and audio-visual presentations bring the history to life through personal stories and accounts from Catalina aircrew and others with connections to the wartime base.

Visitors can also step inside the original underground communications bunker, offering a fascinating insight into the operations of this once-secret wartime base.
